Dear Readers,
this special issue seeks to gather expert opinions from a multidisciplinary group, including scientists, scholars, clinicians, bio-engineers, and industry leaders, on the transformative potential of digital health innovations. We aim to explore how these technologies are reshaping healthcare delivery, patient outcomes, and clinical practices across diverse specialties, including Geriatrics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Dentistry, Genetics, and beyond.
Submissions are encouraged to address the following themes:
- Impact of digital health innovations on clinical practice: How are emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, telemedicine, wearables, and mobile health apps, influencing diagnosis, treatment, and patient management in specific specialties?
- Patient perspectives: How are patients experiencing and engaging with digital health tools? What are the benefits and challenges of these technologies from the patient's point of view?
- Ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI): What are the ethical considerations surrounding data privacy, security, and algorithmic bias in the context of digital health? How can we ensure equitable access to these innovations?
- Future directions and challenges: What are the most promising avenues for future research and development in digital health? What barriers and challenges need to be overcome to realize the full potential of these technologies?
We invite original research articles, reviews, case studies, and perspectives that shed light on the current state and future trajectory of digital health innovations, providing valuable insights for clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
