We are thrilled to announce that Professor Calogero Caruso has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of Exploration of Immunology (EI), effective September 2024. Professor Caruso brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role, and we are confident that under his leadership, EI will continue to thrive and grow.
As Professor Emeritus at the University of Palermo (Italy), Professor Caruso is a renowned scholar in the field of immunology in aging, with a strong track record of research and publications. In his new role, Professor Caruso will be responsible for overseeing the peer review process, ensuring the quality and integrity of the journal's content, and working closely with the editorial board to shape the direction of EI. He will also be tasked with expanding the journal's reach and visibility in the scientific community.
"As the title of this editorial and as a development plan for the coming years during which the journal will be under my leadership, I have chosen 'Immunology Through the Ages', inspired by the title of the 2024 International Day of Immunology webinar, "Immunity Through the Ages: Navigating the Science of Ageing and Immunology", introduced in Prof. Caruso's editorial.
Please join us in congratulating Professor Caruso on his appointment and wishing him all the best in his new role. We look forward to seeing the exciting developments that will unfold under his leadership.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the outgoing Editor-in-Chief and also as the Founding Editor-in-Chief, Dominique J. Charron, for his dedicated service and invaluable contributions to EI over the 3 years. Under his leadership, the journal has grown and thrived, and we are grateful for his commitment to excellence.
Thank you for your continued support for Exploration of Immunology and welcome to join us as readers, authors, reviewers and editors!
