We are pleased to report that Prof. Karel Pacak, Editor-in-Chief of EEMD, attended the 15th PUMCH Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism Forum (http://www.pcemf.org.cn) held in Beijing, China from September 6 to 8, 2024. The event drew over 300 esteemed experts and scholars in the field, along with 1550 delegates, making it a grand academic gathering.
Hosted by the Beijing Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Education Research Society, and co-organized by the Endocrinology Department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, the National Health Commission Key Laboratory of Endocrinology, the China Medical Sciences Research Center for Diabetes, and the Beijing Medical Association, the forum aimed to provide a high-level platform for academic exchange and to promote the advancement of endocrinology.
Prof. Pacak delivered four engaging lectures, utilizing PowerPoint presentations to effectively communicate the latest insights into precision medicine for pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma, as well as detailed clinical consensus guidelines. His presentations were enhanced by interactive Q&A sessions and case analyses, which deepened the understanding of recent developments in the field.
In his role as a promoter of EEMD, Prof. Pacak integrated promotional messages into his lectures, subtly highlighting the journal’s relevance to the discussed topics and the professional interests of the audience. He established positive communication with some leaders in endocrinology and other scholars, effectively promoting our scientific mission. He also introduced our current policy of free publication, which attracted interest from potential contributors. We are honored that following the conference, Prof. Anli Tong from Peking Union Medical College Hospital has officially joined the EEMD journal’s editorial board, further enhancing the journal’s academic credibility.
The 15th PCEMF provided a valuable opportunity for the emerging journal EEMD to engage with the endocrinology community. Prof. Pacak’s presence and lectures were instrumental in elevating the journal’s profile among experts and scholars. We look forward to more such opportunities to advance together with our Editor-in-Chief and editorial board members.
