DOAJ is one of the most respected and comprehensive databases for open access journals worldwide. It was launched in 2003 with the mission to increase the visibility, accessibility, and impact of high-quality, peer-reviewed open access research. Today, DOAJ indexes over 20,000 journals across all areas of science, technology, medicine, social science, and the humanities, making it an essential resource for libraries, researchers, and funding bodies.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the growth and success of EMD. Special thanks go to our Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Fernando Pérez-Ruiz, Editorial Board Members, Guest Editors, Peer Reviewers and authors for their expertise, dedication, and support. This achievement truly belongs to all of you.

EMD was founded in 2023 with the aim of publishing innovative and high-quality research in musculoskeletal diseases. Being included in DOAJ means that EMD has met strict criteria for editorial quality, ethical publishing practices, and full open access. This inclusion enhances the discoverability of the journal’s content, expands its global readership, and signals to authors and institutions that EMD adheres to the highest standards in scholarly publishing.

To further support the advancement of science and foster academic exchange, EMD will continue to keep the policy of NO APC before January 31, 2028. By doing so, we hope to promote equitable access to scientific publication and ensure that impactful research reaches the widest possible audience.

We look forward to welcoming more contributors, collaborators, and readers from around the world as we move into this new chapter of enhanced visibility and impact!
