We are honored to announce that Exploration of Foods and Foodomics (EFF) has passed the evaluation of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and was officially indexed by DOAJ from September 24, 2024! This a significant achievement that reflects our dedication to disseminating high-quality research in the field of food science and foodomics. The official website of EFF on DOAJ is https://doaj.org/toc/2837-9020
DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes high-quality, open-access, peer-reviewed journals from across the globe. It is a trusted resource for researchers and readers seeking reliable scholarly content without barriers. DOAJ's commitment to transparency and best practices in publishing makes it a prestigious index for academic journals.
This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our Editors-in-Chief (Prof. Dr. Alejandro Cifuentes and Prof. Dr. Elena Ibáñez), Editorial Board, Guest Editors, reviewers, and authors. We extend our sincere thanks to all those who have contributed to the journal's success.
About EFF journal:
EFF, launched on April 2023, is a peer-reviewed, open access online journal that publishes papers of the highest quality and significance. It covers a broad spectrum of topics, including food safety and risk assessment, food chemistry and nanochemistry, food authenticity, foodomics, nutrigenomics, and nutrigenetics, among others. To move forward, we will continue to keep the policy of NO APC to encourage more high-quality submissions and improve the readability and impact of EFF articles.
As we celebrate this achievement, we invite you to explore EFF and its articles (52 articles have been published online, Original Articles accounted for 50%), which are now more discoverable and accessible than ever before. We look forward to continuing our mission of advancing food science and foodomics research on a global scale. Thanks to the help of our Editorial Board Member as well as Guest Editor Prof. José Pinela and Prof. José Ignacio Alonso-Esteban, EFF journal was promoted at "The XVIII National Meeting of the Portuguese Society of Chemistry" held at the Aveiro Congress Center, Portugal, from 24 to 26 July 2023.
The theme of The XVIII National Meeting of the Portuguese Society of Chemistry this year is "Chemistry Without Borders with Diversity” (https://xxviiienspq.events.chemistry.pt/). As a central science, Chemistry is a disciplinary area that promotes the dialogue of knowledge between mathematics, physics, biology, medicine, earth and environmental sciences, and the arts.Consequently, it blurs or eradicates the presumed boundaries between these disciplines, embracing the development of holistic knowledge. The event comprised 8 plenary lectures, 26 keynote lectures, 66 oral communications, 21 flash communications, and 228 poster communications. Organized by the Portuguese Chemical Society, this Meeting stands as the largest Chemistry event in Portugal. During the presentation of the poster titled “Proximate composition and free sugar and fatty acid profiles of Asian hornet larvae: An alternative food source?, attendees were introduced to the Special Issue “The food (r)evolution towards food quality/security and human nutrition” (https://www.explorationpub.com/Journals/eff/Special_Issues/133) through the distribution of dedicated flyers. The attending experts show enthusiasm when introduced to this new journal and its editorial policies. This activity contributed to attracting potential authors to contribute to the Special Issue while promoting the EFF’s audience and influence.
Furthermore, the journal was previously promoted during oral presentations at the 16th Food Chemistry Meeting held in Castelo Branco, Portugal, from 23 to 26 October 2022, and at the XXVI Galician-Portuguese Chemistry Meeting held at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, from 16 to 18 November 2022. Promotional activities are important for the Guest Editors who will continue to disseminate both the Special Issue and the EFF journal at future events.
It's pleased to announce that Prof. Sabrina Battista attended the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) Conference (https://www.eacr2023.org/) from June 12th to June 15th, 2023, and promoted EFF and the special issue she is editing : Molecular Targets of Diet in Cancer Therapy and Prevention:https://www.explorationpub.com/Journals/eff/Special_Issues/233. More than 2000 scientists attended this meeting.
The European Association for Cancer Research is Europe’s largest professional member society for cancer researchers with over 10,000 members worldwide. It provides a wide range of services to members, facilitate communication and collaboration, and organize a series of cancer research conferences and congresses where the latest research topics and interaction for participants are the very highest priorities.
At the congress, several talks and posters (more than 60) highlighted the relevance of diet and metabolism in oncology and immuno-oncology. She presented a poster titled “The HMGA1/phospho-NUMB signaling pathway mediates the response of glioblastoma stem cells to hyperglycemia and caloric restriction mimetics”, which elicited inspiring discussions with the scientists who stopped by. At her poster presentation, she had the chance to promote the Special Issue “Molecular targets of diet in cancer therapy and prevention” by distributing the dedicated flyers. Moreover, besides distributing the flyers to the general audience, she personally reached the scientists having presentations or posters related to the topic of the Special Issue (more than 60). This gave her the chance to significantly increase the number of potential contributing Authors.
This is the first conference which EFF's guest editors are included, and we believe that this conference has increased EFF's visibility and attracted more potential authors to pay attention to and contribute to EFF's special issue in the future. We hope there will be more such opportunities in the future, with the help of more experts, for us to promote the journal or special issue If you are interested in attending the conference and promoting EFF, you are welcome to contact us at any time and we will provide you with appropriate support and assistance. If you know of any conferences related to EFF's scope, please recommend them to us as well. We are open for more opportunities to participate in the conference.
