About the Special lssue

Recent advances in cellular and molecular treatment of autoimmune diseases have sparked hope for more targeted and effective therapies. From innovative approaches like CAR-T cell therapy, which involves engineering patients' own T cells to recognize and attack autoimmune targets, to the development of biologics that precisely target key molecules involved in immune dysregulation, such as cytokines or immune checkpoints, the landscape of autoimmune disease treatment is rapidly evolving. Moreover, advancements in gene editing technologies like CRISPR offer potential avenues for correcting underlying genetic predispositions to autoimmune conditions. These breakthroughs hold promise for more personalized and durable treatment options for individuals living with autoimmune diseases.
