In the last few years, treatment of gastrointestinal cancers has been updated significantly. For instance, total neoadjuvant treatment is the new standard of care in locally advanced rectal cancer and immunotherapy is the new best choice in the first-line treatment of MSI-high advanced colorectal carcinomas. Moreover, immunotherapy has improved treatment outcomes in esophageal, gastric cancer and has significantly changed life expectancy in liver cancer.
